Jessica Alba Names the First Brand Ambassador for The Honest Company
When it came time for Jessica Alba to name The Honest Company’s first brand ambassador, the actress picked a true winner: Olympic beach volleyball player and fellow California girl, Kerri Walsh Jennings. Through the partnership—which comes less than two months before Walsh Jennings is set to begin competition in the 2016 Olympic games in Brazil—the moms will work to promote the importance of sunscreen in a healthy lifestyle.
As founder of The Honest Company and Honest Beauty, InStyle July cover girl Alba sought a representative with sincerity and strength. “Regardless of the Olympics, she’s just the perfect brand ambassador because she’s an awesome mom and she cares about children’s health and her own health. She lives an honest life, and she loves what the brand stands for,” Alba said in an interview with People. “She does everything with such integrity, not only as a mom, but as an athlete. And when we launched our new SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen, there really couldn’t be a more perfect person who has three kids and who understands how important it is to apply sunscreen.”
Walsh Jennings, who became a household name competing alongside longtime partner, the now-retired Misty May-Treanor, has earned three Olympic gold medals throughout her career—one for each of her three children (Joseph, 7, Sundance, 6, and Scout, 3) with husband Casey Jennings.
“For me as an athlete, Honest just suits every area of my life. I have no time to waste. I know we were just talking about family life and being a working mommy, you need stuff that’s efficient," Walsh Jennings told People. "I need stuff that performs and stuff I can trust and Honest products are that every single time. Reliability and integrity are huge with me."
