For Jennifer Lopez, Social Distancing Involves Solo Dancing
Her Starbucks cups are bedazzled. Her highlights are chunky. But Jennifer Lopez is social distancing just like the rest of us. Her version, however, is decidedly more Jennifer Lopez, according to Elle. Lopez explained that she's staying in and working from home, though she's probably not wearing last night's pajamas and heating up leftovers. Oh, and she's doing a lot of online shopping.
Lopez described her routine while she was promoting her new line with DSW, noting that between her mundane tasks, she's dancing.
"For me, working from home is reading scripts, developing new projects, even working out and learning new dance routines," Lopez said. "I don't know anything that makes me happier than shopping for a pair of shoes. To be honest with you? I think there's a lot of online shopping going on right now."
Lopez isn't feeling stir crazy just yet. She noted that staying inside was something like a "reset" for everyone.
"This situation, if we’re lucky enough to be healthy — and if you are, be grateful — but if you’re healthy and home, it’s a real reset button for so many of us," Lopez said.
Another way Lopez is passing the time involves filming TikTok videos with her 12-year-old twins, Emme and Max.
"They love it, so they’re always encouraging me to use it," she said. "They love when I do!"
Lopez offered a few words of support for anyone feeling hopeless. She's sure that things will get better — and when they do, everyone will be better. Still, she says, it's important to follow the CDC guidelines and work on that self-improvement at home.
"At some point, hopefully soon, we’re going to bounce back. We always bounce back. And so we need to use this time to get ready to come back even better," she said. "Nobody wanted this to happen, but if it has to be this way, you can take advantage of the time and work to get better. But do that work from home."
