Jennifer Lopez Was a Literal Gift on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
Put a bow on it.
Nominated for the first time since her breakout 1998 star turn in Selena, Jennifer Lopez is making sure all eyes are on her at the 2020 Golden Globes. This time around, she's facing stiff competition for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture. Her role as Ramona in the headline-making hit Hustlers got her the attention of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, but it's clear that she managed to capture the attention of all the flashbulbs with tonight's showstopping dress.
Lopez wore a Valentino ballgown with a huge, statement-making bow on the hip. The dress featured a strapless, gold bodice and a white skirt, but it was tough to ignore the larger-than-life bow, which featured deep green and the same shimmering gold. She completed the look with her signature smoldering smoky eye and a crown of braids. She finished it all off with a matching emerald necklace and earrings — 145 carats in total courtesy of Harry Winston, including a vintage bracelet from 1959 — though the real gift is sure to be the memes that come out of this look.
Lopez is no stranger to stealing the spotlight at this or any awards show. In 2009, she arrived with Marc Anthony and wore a slinky gold Marchesa dress that left almost nothing to the imagination. She's also tried out Zuhair Murad bridal looks, couture caftans, and, of course, naked dresses at the illustrious event.
Critics are calling Hustlers Lopez's ticket to awards glory, so this could be the beginning of a season full of unforgettable looks from the original multi-hyphenate talent.
