Since first getting together just over a month ago, Jennifer Lopez and baseball legend Alex Rodriguez have already set out to put other A-list couples to shame with their romantic outings. Case in point: the smitten pair have been spotted redefining couple goals by wearing coordinating date outfits, working up a sweat together, and even meeting the parents.

Now the "Ain't Your Mama" star is admitting that although it's been a whirlwind romance, the lovebirds actually got off to a pretty ordinary start.

"It's very simple. I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him as he passed by," the Shades of Blue actress admitted on Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She also revealed that she was the one who made the first move: "Afterwards I went outside and for some reason, I felt like tapping him on the shoulder."

After chatting for a few weeks about life in L.A. (A-Rod was a recent East Coast transplant), the star athlete finally mustered up the courage to ask the Latina songstress on a date.

"We had a nice dinner," the mom of two dished, and DeGeneres pressed, "And then a sleepover?"

"No," Lopez said. "Mama don't sleep over on the first date."

Although the episode was packed with new details on J.Lo's new romance there was one major distraction (well, actually two): the World of Dance judge's longtime loves—her adorable kids, Emme and Max. The 9-year-old twins made a special appearance on the talk show with their mom. Watch Lopez introduce them to the audience here:

The kids stole the show with their mischievous antics during Mom's interview and as they helped her compete in a game called "Last Dance" against World of Dance co-judge Derek Hough.
