Jennifer Garner Gives Ina Garten a Run for Her Money in "Pretend Cooking Show" Video
It looks like Jennifer Garner is taking a cue from her cooking idol Ina Garten. The actress, who has appeared on the famous chef's Food Network show The Barefoot Contessa in the past, took to Facebook to share a cooking segment of her own using one of Garten's recipes.
While the title of the video may be "Pretend Cooking Show," it's actually pretty impressive. Not only does she go through the step-by-step process of making Ina's Honey White Bread from the Barefoot at Home cookbook, it's set to music, and she does her own riff on the recipe.
Garner starts off the video by professing her love for Ina and this particular recipe. "I’m not an expert but if you want to make your family happy over and over again this is one recipe that if you get it down, you can do anything with it. And it’s by Ina. Love you Ina!" she says as she kisses a copy of her cookbook.
“Here’s what I love about this dough—you can do anything with it. My mom made bread men for my sisters and me when we were little and they were our favorite things ever,” she says. “So that’s one, cinnamon bread—everybody loves it, that’s two, and then a plain old loaf of honey white bread, that's three.”
She then demonstrates how to make these adorable bread men. "The thing I love about making bread men with half your dough is they are ready right away,” says the actress. “And they remind me of my mom. It doesn’t matter that you don’t know what you’re doing, these could not be less perfect but my kids will love them!"
Will this be her last cooking video? We hope not! "I tried to do an Ina! What should I do next Ina Garten?” she says. Here's hoping Ina responds!
