How Jenna and Barbara Bush Almost Became Besties with Beyoncé
If Jenna and Barbara Bush wrote a Craigslist Missed Connection for Beyoncé, it would involve their dad's first presidential inauguration, and a complicated three-way pager. What? Give them a break, it was 2001!
In a recent interview with E! News, the Bush twins revealed that Queen Bey (she was still just Beyoncé back then) tried to strike up a friendship with them during their early days in the White House.
"We did get to meet Beyoncé when she was in Destiny's Child and she gave us a three-way pager and she was like, 'Stay in touch!'" Jenna, 35, recalled. "She was very young and so were we. She performed at my dad's first inauguration and I was like, 'How do you work this three-way pager?!'"
Unfortunately, the first daughters never managed to figure out how to use the pager, and, thus, their budding relationship with Bey died on the vine. It's something the sisters say still haunts them. "Had we stayed in touch with Beyoncé our lives could be entirely better," they admitted.
Oof. We can't deny that!
