Jamie Chung Introduces This Summer's New Gladiator Sandal
Like the rest of her seasonal wardrobe, Jamie Chung’s summer style game has been totally on-point. The Believe actress, who burst into the public consciousness on none other than MTV's Real World: San Diego, has taken a cue from the Susie Bubbles and Bryan Boys of the world and made a name for herself as a fashion blogger at whatthechung.com. As a result of her new sartorial endeavor, she's been spotted just about everywhere in lust-worthy ensembles. Exhibit A: While perusing stores during a shopping trip (what else?) at the Grove in L.A., Chung sported a Guess chambray shirt, Sachin + Babi skirt, a red Kate Spade envelope clutch, and a pair of totally show-stopping sandals—which we're now dubbing this summer's update on the age-old gladiator.
Recalling images of Russell Crowe in a stadium of screaming Italians, Schutz's Erlina style resembles the shoe worn by ancient Roman men, but with chic, modern updates that make it feel up to date. Instead of calf-high straps, it features a graphic suede lace-up closure, and a gold-capped low heel for added flair. "We wanted to refresh the traditional gladiator in a modern and clean way, yet still keep it sexy," designer Tracy Law told InStyle.com. Chung said, "It's a softer version which can complement a lot more looks." Rock a neutral shade like Chung, or choose a different color (python, red, black, blue, or teal) to suit your mood.
