Jaime King Filed for Divorce from Kyle Newman and Requested a Restraining Order
The couple has been married for 13 years.
After 13 years of marriage, Jaime King has filed for divorce from her husband, Kyle Newman. E! News reports that court documents filed today indicate a temporary restraining order in addition to the divorce.
E! adds that there is no indication as to whether or not the restraining order was granted or the reason for the divorce, though People notes that the paperwork included a "domestic violence prevention petition." Neither King nor Newman has commented on the news.
The last time that King posted about Newman on social media was Father's Day 2019, in a gallery that included several family photos. "How did we get so lucky? Happy Father's Day to the best man and daddy @kyle_newman WE LOVE YOU!!!" she wrote.
King and Newman share two sons, James Knight, age 6, and Leo Thomas, 4. The two met on the set of Fanboys, directed by Newman,in 2005 and later married in 2007. The famous couple has managed to find itself among some of Hollywood's biggest names. According to Entertainment Tonight, Taylor Swift is Leo's godmother. King is also close to Selma Blair and opened up about her friend's diagnosis with multiple sclerosis.
"We live in a modern world now where we are separated by our immediate families and you create families where you live," she told Yahoo Style. "You create families that are like your older sisters, your younger sisters, your spiritual family. And that’s what I've done."
