It's Going to Be a Cheery Spring! Target's Latest Design Partner Is Lilly Pulitzer
Target just gave us another reason to get psyched for spring: The company revealed that its next designer collaboration is with Lilly Pulitzer.
The limited-edition collection, out in April, is made up of 250 pieces of apparel (including plus sizes), accessories, and shoes, as well as home decor pieces, outdoor entertaining accessories, beach gear, and travel essentials. Products will feature 15 prints that were designed specifically for the collaboration and prices range from $2 to $150 (with nearly 200 items under $30).
“This spring, we wanted to offer our guests a collection that embraced color, print and pattern in a bold, fresh way,” Stacia Andersen, senior vice president, apparel and accessories for Target, said in a statement. “As we started to think about the perfect partner to collaborate with, Lilly Pulitzer was the clear choice given the brand’s inspiring heritage, authority with print and pattern and resort-chic aesthetic.”
The late Lilly Pulitzer (pictured above), who passed away in 2013, got her start circa 1959 when she began selling cheery printed dresses at a juice stand in Palm Beach, Fla. A hit with the resort crowd (including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, and her old Miss Porter classmate Jackie Kennedy), the line of clothing that bore her name later expanded to include swimsuits, country club attire, children’s clothing, menswear, and home decor.
A collaboration with Target seems like a natural choice for the brand. “Life's a party, dress like it!” Pulitzer famously said. And come this spring, you can!
Lilly Pulitzer for Target will be available on target.com from April 19.
