Sure, by now you've probably heard of "baking" your makeup, but one Instagram-famous makeup maven just gave the technique a literal twist. Recently, beauty blogger YoungCouture posted a 15-second contouring tutorial, and just when we thought the polka-dotted highlighter, concealer, and bronzer were unconventional enough, she throws us a curveball by setting her handiwork with flour. Yes, flour—as in the baking flour you probably forgot was in your kitchen cabinet.

So, does the method actually work? In terms of setting your makeup, yes. Because a wheat flour was used, the color isn't too far off from your traditional loose powder, but we'd imagine the texture might be slightly gritty, not to mention, the obvious flour-like aroma. Although, considering that whispers of using rice flour to set makeup on acne-prone skin have been circling the internet, the technique isn't completely unheard of. Check out the video below—the spotted contouring alone is one of the more mesmerizing methods we've seen.
