The secret to an unforgettable cocktail party with your squad isn’t found just in flowing glasses of bubbly and endless girl talk. To kick off any successful night, one thing can’t be forgotten: killer shoes. That A+ mix is exactly what L.A.’s It girl inner-circle delivered Tuesday night inside the L’Ermitage Beverly Hills Hotel, where beauties like Thandie Newton (above, left), Abigail Spencer (above, right), Darby Stanchfield, Jordana Brewster (below), and plenty of others celebrated InStyle and Jimmy Choo’s “Girls' Night In.”

And while guests were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a masseuse, tarot card reader, and decadent bites from famed Tinseltown eatery Jon and Vinny’s, the shoes (Jimmy Choos, specifically) are what really amped up the girl power. For Stanchfield, who may portray a buttoned-up White House politico on Scandal, she’s a shoe addict like any other. “Jimmy Choo shut down the Beverly Hills flagship store for Shonda Rhimes and the Scandal ladies,” she told InStyle of her most recent Choo-related memory. “Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, Shonda Rhimes and myself all met Sandra [Choi], the mastermind of Jimmy Choo, and all of their associates at the store. They just closed up for business and we were there and got to try on a million shoes!”

Yes, Stanchfield’s recollection sounds like every girl’s ultimate fashion fantasy, but the white orchid-filled evening proved to match up to her memory. Jamie Chung (below) gasped with excitement the moment she saw pal Louise Roe, while Newton and Spencer ogled over their bold fashion choices. Turns out they share the same shoe size, too. “The secret of a Jimmy Choo is that they put the heel further forward, so it hits your instep at exactly the place to give you support," Newton said. “Very often, the heel comes straight down on a stiletto and if you haven’t got a high instep, that’s a nightmare.”

The brand’s construction technique evidently seems to work, as all of the ladies in the room had nothing but positive things to gush about. “When I got my first paycheck, I bought a pair of Gucci shoes and a pair of Jimmy Choos,” Spencer revealed. “My first! I was like, 'I made money, I’m gonna buy some shoes!'” Sporting Choos, Katharine McPhee reveled in their ease. “They are so comfortable and I love that the buckle goes in the front.”

As for Brewster, who mingled between beauties like Halston Sage (above, left), Zoey Deutch (above, right), and Caitlin Fitzgerald, the fete put her in the mood to shop. “They’re so pretty and they’re so comfy. They’re really comfortable. I love this heel and the platform. I find that when the ball of your foot is right by the ground, it’s never comfy, but there’s something about this. I think the platform helps,” she said of the pair she rocked. “I’m gonna get the ones with the tie, have you seen them out there? Beautiful, I’m obsessed. I think I’m gonna get them tomorrow.”

Funnily enough, Camilla Belle (above, with Sandra Choi), who also expressed her love for all things Choo, opened up about the first thing she planned to do once home. “Probably take my shoes off,” she said. “I like being barefoot when I can. So I take the shoes off, drink some water and sit down for a second.” Amen to that.
