ICYMI: Here's Everything You Need to Know About the 2015 Golden Globe Awards
And that's a wrap! The 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards went off with a bang last night, and InStyle was right in the center of all the action. Didn't catch the show or want to relive all the best moments? Here's everything you need to know about last night's star-filled extravaganza:
The Amazing Red Carpet Looks
Aside from the 10 best dressed of the night, there were some major wins on the red carpet. From the ladies who ditched gowns in favor of pants and the sea of red to Kate Hudson’s sexy Versace number, Rosamund Pike’s daring Vera Wang dress, and Keira Knightley’s baby bump debut in Chanel—we loved them all.
George and Amal Clooney Stole the Show
Not only were they arguably the best dressed couple of the night, but they also showed us that they are totally in love. After hitting the red carpet together—Amal in a black one-shoulder Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and white opera gloves and George in a dapper black tuxedo—the actor lovingly praised his wife as he accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award onstage: “It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love, even better when you’ve been waiting your whole life, and your whole life is 53 years,” he continued. “Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”
Jared Leto Rocked a Man Braid
When Jared Leto hit the stage, we were beyond thrilled to see that the handsome star had opted for his signature pulled-back hairdo—the man bun—but quickly realized something completely new adorned the actor’s head: a beautifully crafted messy braid. Is this the next big beauty trend? Quite possibly.
The Super Glam Beauty Moments
Celebrities Got Candid Backstage
Photographer Douglas Friedman took us backstage at the show and took over our Instagram account, where he captured intimate moments with Jennifer Lopez, Adam Levine, Amy Adams, Kerry Washington, Channing Tatum, and more.
Stars Pledges Their Support for "Je Suis Charlie"
Many of the stars that walked the red carpet were armed with a powerful message: Je Suis Charlie. George and Amal Clooney, Helen Mirren, Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger, Jared Leto, and Kathy Bates were among the celebrities who wore buttons and held signs emblazoned with the French phrase that translates to “I am Charlie”—the slogan and hashtag used in support of Charlie Hebdo following a terror attack on the publication’s office that took place in Paris, France, last week.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Showed Us Why We Love Them
The twosome emceed the Golden Globes for their third and final time last night, and they went out with a hilarious (and stylish!) bang. We can't believe it was their last year as hosts! We will truly miss them.
InStyle Hosted a Star-Studded After-Party
InStyle and Warner Bros. hosted a post-ceremony bash that was jam-packed with Hollywood's biggest names including Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Chastain, and more that was not to be missed! Plus, InStyle Editor Ariel Foxman also took us inside the action with a diary featuring his most memorable moments of his glamorous night.
