Ice, Ice, Baby: Bulgari Shows Off Their Fabulous Jewels In a Dazzling New Exhibit
Gem lovers, rejoice! In celebration of their 130th anniversary, Bulgari is opening an exclusive retrospective showcasing pieces representing every period since its Roman beginnings in 1884. The Bulgari: 130 Years of Masterpieces exhibit, which is housed at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Houston, Texas, features over 150 pieces of jewelry from Bulgari's Heritage Collection—including masterpieces from the historical archives of the company in Rome and on loan from private collections.
"Equal parts art and science, historic and modern, Bulgari not only pays homage to the great masters of the past, they also continuously push the envelope in jewelry design and cutting-edge technology into the future when so many others are content to merely rest on their laurels," says Joel A. Bartsch, president of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
What makes the exhibit something you can't miss? Aside from the distinctive shapes, fabulous stones, brilliant colors, and unparalleled craftsmanship of Bulgari's out-of-this-world pieces, the collection includes items owned by Elizabeth Taylor, who became almost as famous for her love of Bulgari jewels as for her on-screen triumphs. Striking pieces from Taylor's private collection that have been worn by other iconic Hollywood stars like Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Moore, Rachel Weisz, and Meryl Streep are also featured in the exhibition.
The retrospective is open to the public beginning today and runs through Oct. 5, 2014, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit hmns.org.
