The countdown is on for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2 to hit theaters on Nov. 20, and no one is feeling the excitement more than the movie’s cast. Just ask Patina Miller, who plays District 8’s rebel leader—and ultimate president of Panem—Commander Paylor in the dystopian series’ final two movies. “It's pretty surreal,” Miller told InStyle at the 2015 Angel Ball in New York City last week. “I’m really sad that it's ending, but we’re also so excited for people to see the last movie, because it is epic.”

That means there are surprises in store—even for fans who have read the books and know how the story ends. “I think people are going to gasp,” said Miller. “There's a lot of action and emotion, but the movie really stays true to the books—it just takes the emotions even further.” And the cast worked hard to make sure the final film does the books and prior films justice. “Everyone involved has just given it their all,” said Miller.

Her favorite on-set moment was filming “one of the explosion scenes in my [character’s] district in Mockingjay—Part 1,” she said. “The crew is so tight, and that was one of the only times I experienced working with everyone on set, including Jennifer [Lawrence] and Liam [Hemsworth].” Of course, Miller also had her share of highlights while shooting Mockingjay—Part 2. “When we were filming one of my favorite scenes for the new film, I got to act with Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson,” she said. And Harrelson made a lasting impression. “He is the funniest guy on the planet,” said Miller.

On the set, Harrelson kept everyone laughing between takes. “There was a lot of singing, and some pranks, too,” said Miller. But he wasn’t the only one with a sense of humor. “The guys on that set are all jokesters.”
