New outfit, new hairstyle. At least that seems to be Blake Lively’s motto.
After blowing us away with an unbelievable number of wardrobe changes throughout The Age of Adaline press tour, it hit us: For every standout ensemble the star slipped on, there was a hair reinvention to go with it. From bombshells waves to super sleek, she did it all (practically in one day). Frankly, she left us with so much hairspiration, we’re not sure what to do with it all—other than share it with you, of course.
That’s right—we managed to narrow down our six favorite looks, starting with the film's N.Y.C. premiere, all the way to her Tonight Show appearance. Oh, and we got the full scoop from her hairstylist so you can try each one at home. You’re welcome!
Inspired by Lively’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown, hairstylist Rod Ortega continued the retro theme with Old Hollywood waves for The Age of Adaline premiere on April 19 (above). Beginning with damp hair, Ortega blew out the star’s strands, sectioning her hair into three parts on one side. Next, he grabbed a T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Barrel Styling Wand ($230; sephora.com) and wrapped ½-inch sections around the barrel, making sure to twirl each one in the same direction, and away from her face to create major volume. Once her hair completely cooled, the pro had Lively flip her head upside down as he fully brushed out the waves with a large paddle brush. Moving on to the hair on the other side, he French-braided a section toward the back of her head, using bobby pins to secure in place. Finally, he spritzed L'Oréal Elnett hairspray ($15; ulta.com) for night-long hold.
For Lively's appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning, the pro opted for glam, loose waves. After blowing her hair hair out, he used the same T3 styling wand to curl 1-inch sections at a time. He also grabbed smaller sections, making the curls just a little bit tighter to achieve a “swirly effect.” Next, he twisted a few pieces in the front and pinned them in a circle for a finishing touch.
Naturally, leaving GMA would require a whole new look, which is why Ortega pulled the star's strands into a sleek, low ponytail. After smoothing the hair at the top of her head, he relied on the T3 wand yet again to create additional texture. Ah, the power of a quick change.
Later that afternoon, Lively returned to her signature bombshell waves to hit the Sirius XM Studios. To freshen things up, Ortega once again curled sections of hair away from her face and in the same direction to create larger waves and loads of body.RELATED: Another Day, Another Stunning Outfit for Blake Lively
Changing gears yet again, the new mom wore her long blonde hair completely straight for an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This time around, the pro turned to T3’s SinglePass 1.5 Inch Flat Iron ($230; sephora.com) to achieve the super sleek style before filming began.
As for her departure? Ortega pulled the top and side sections into a chic, half updo, which served as the perfect complement to her retro-inspired getup. After passing the flat iron over her strands a few more times, he sprayed her entire head with hairspray to finish off the look.PHOTOS: See Blake Lively's Changing Beauty Looks
