See Hollywood's Chicest Moms Dress Up for the Annual Baby2Baby Gala
The fourth annual Baby2Baby Gala has grown up—that is, the event has become splashier and more star-studded than ever. Held in Culver City at 3Labs last night, the red carpet was one long fashionable parade of Hollywood's chicest moms. To give you an idea of just the kind of hot mamas in attendance, Jessica Biel rubbed shoulders with Gwen Stefani who said hello to Reese Witherspoon.
The highlight, though, was Kerry Washington, splendid in a dramatic Giambattista Valli haute couture ball gown, who was accepting the Giving Tree Award for her support of Baby2Baby and her ongoing dedication to children in need.
So what does Scandal’s White House fixer think of this high honor? “I’m just thrilled," Washington said. "It’s such an important organization. So I’m just happy when I get invited to this event. Never mind being honored. It’s such a great party. The work that Baby2Baby does has as a different kind of resonance for me now that I’m a mom. I really understand how these details really make a difference in how you’re able to parent."
Also clad in Giambattista Valli, Jessica Alba, mom to two girls, was a ray of sunshine in a marigold creation. “I love the color," she said. "It’s really romantic and the hair is sort of an up-do, but it’s still kind of tossled and messy. It feels glamorous, but not fussy.” (Alba probably nailed it here when it comes to the best kind of mom fashion.)
Alba didn't stop there, gushing about Washington's work. “It’s incredible because she’s such an outstanding woman, and what she’s done in her life and how she's given back to the social causes over the years," Alba said. "Now that she’s a mother, I just think she’s a great role model and I’m so proud of everything that she’s accomplished."
And the fashion hits kept coming. Dressed in a stunning Monique Lhullier number, Jenna Dewan-Tatum who brought husband Channing Tatum as date, shared that sentiment. “Kerry is a lovely person," she said. "She’s such a strong, power woman. She gave me the best advice when I saw her recently and she said to me, ‘I started saying to my child, mommy gets to go to work, instead of mommy has to go to work’. For whatever reason, that little change changed everything for me because I want my child thinking working and doing what you love is a good thing and not a hassle. I really love her outlook on life.”
