If you’ve taken note of Hoda Kotb’s absence on the Today Show these past few days, you’re not alone; but the anchor hasn’t been on vacation. On Tuesday morning, the 52-year-old phoned in to her co-hosts to reveal some exciting personal news: She adopted a baby girl, named Haley Joy Kotb.

The “little nugget” was born on Tuesday, Feb. 14, making her a “Valentine’s baby,” Kotb said. “She is the love of my life,” she told viewers through tears.

Her co-hosts had nothing but praise for the new mom. “This little girl Haley is the luckiest girl on the planet. You are going to be one of the most fantastic moms I can ever imagine,” Matt Lauer told Kotb.

“Hoda, we are thrilled for you, sweetheart. You were made to be a mom,” her longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford told her, adding that she was excited to no longer be keeping such a huge secret.

Kotb also shared the first photo of her baby girl on Twitter, writing, “My girl.”
