High Contrast Alert: Black and White Prove to Be a Winning Combo at the Grammys
There weren't any shades of gray at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Instead, the black-and-white combo once again made a reappearance on the red carpet, but this time in unexpected forms. Madonna sported the contrasting colors in a menswear-inspired look (courtesy of Ralph Lauren and hand-picked by son David), donning a black cady double-breasted tuxedo jacket, complete with a crisp optic-white button-down and black double-faced wool pants.
Katy Perry stood out in her ethereal Valentino Couture gown—an all-white frothy tulle creation that doubled as a music sheet sprinkled with a medley of notes. Paula Patton took advantage of the statement-making shades with a fierce look in a body-hugging zebra-print number. With a string of award shows left of the season, we're definitely expecting to see more of these classic colors.
