It's a new era for Banana Republic! Ever since designer Marissa Webb took over as creative director of Banana Republic in April 2014, there has been a palpable air of excitement surrounding her designs for the brand, with her first collection slated to hit stores this summer.

In another marked shift, Banana Republic will show its fall/winter 2015 looks during New York Fashion Week for the first time, making it the second mass retailer after J. Crew to participate in the industry event. And with the week fast approaching (it officially kicks off Feb. 12 and ends Feb. 19), adrenaline and anticipation are running high. To help us bide our time and ease us into NYFW, Webb has so generously given us a preview of what's to come, with a sketch (above).

From the looks of it, we can expect to see tough moto-style oversize coats, playfully emblazoned clutches (we didn't know we wanted), and flirty separates. It's classic Banana Republic to the core, but with a delicious dose of effortless cool. "On the move," is how she has succinctly summed it up, which works on so many levels. The collection could literally be tailored for girls on the go or it could speak to Banana Republic's new direction in a broader sense, or both. At any rate, we can hardly wait to see the full collection for ourselves. So let the NYFW countdown begin!
