It's safe to say that as co-host of E!'s Fashion Police and red carpet correspondent for pretty much every major awards show out there, Kelly Osbourne knows a thing or two about fashion. In fact, the stylish Brit has become something of an authority on the matter. So it makes sense that she funneled her talent for critiquing fashion into a ready-to-wear collection—Stories by Kelly Osbourne, a line that was in the making for two years after 12 years of thought.

"Fashion is one of the things I learned from being all shapes and sizes," Osbourne tells InStyle at the fall preview. "I've learned how to enhance areas and detract attention from others, and I wanted to apply that to my clothing line."

The reality star-turned-designer has made it a point to have her clothing cater to all body types, featuring sizes that run from 0 to 24. As she meticulously walked us through every piece in her line, what became painfully clear was that this not some project she haphazardly threw together. Osbourne says she had to educate herself on fabrics, fit, and finishings, putting careful thought and consideration into every single detail: "I didn't want to have some stupid rhinestone, or some stupid embellishment," she bluntly puts. "I went for structure, elegant finishings, and support." It didn't hurt, either, that she had a slew of established designer pals, like Kim Jones, Jeremy Scott, and Zac Posen, on standby.

Discreet paneling offers support along the waistlines of skirts and pants, snap closures are placed between the buttons of button-downs ("because I was so sick of sitting down in meetings and having all these men look at my boobs," she says), and genius pleats and vents allow for extra room without the excess fabric. To sum things up, the collection serves as an answer to every single sartorial problem that plagues womankind. Polka dots, too, are deliberately imperfect ("because I don't believe anything is perfect") and belts are intentionally left off of jumpsuits, "because I want my customers to style it the way they want to—I want them to tell their own story."

The story motif plays a major role in the collection because Osbourne believes there's a narrative behind every single piece of clothing. And with each unique history comes individual style. Hers is particularly unique, often brazenly so, thanks to her signature purple mohawk and out-there fashion risks (like creepers, for one). But she's quick to note that her aesthetic isn't for everyone. "Trust me, I wanted to go a lot more wacky," she says. "But I realized I had to leave my ego at the door because this isn't about me, it's about my dream of making fashion fair."
