Talk about impeccable public transit etiquette: Dame Helen Mirren was snapped riding the subway in New York City over the weekend (the R train to be precise), and the star looked as regal as ever. Mirren showed off her perfect posture in a fur-collared coat and long lavender gloves over a black ensemble, placing her sleek taupe tote politely on her lap (pictured below).

It's not surprising that Mirren chose to take public transit in the Big Apple as she is living in the city: the 69-year-old actress currently stars in the Broadway show The Audience, where she plays Elizabeth II.
