The Internet has spoken: The man bun is not dead. Despite whispers of the man bun being over, millions of Google searches—particularly of Harry Styles's now-infamous look—beg to differ. In Google's 2015 Beauty Trends Report, the search engine found the star to be the most-associated celebrity with the style, despite the fact that Jared Leto pioneered the trend in Hollywood long before the One Direction singer. Interest in men's hair has been growing in general, and was actually 6% higher than women's hair searches than the previous year, with queries like "how to grow a man bun" and "how to tie a man bun" among some of the most common.

In women's top-searched hair trends, terms like "box braids" and "goddess braids" have proved to be more popular than ever, particularly in the South, and tutorial videos demonstrating how to recreate both looks have recieved roughly 12.7 million views in total. The purple reign continues as far as hair color trends go, as do silver and gray tones. Following the Grammys back in February, searches rose for Katy Perry's pastel violet lob in particular, while Rihanna's gray highlights (as well as the rest of her past rainbow of colors) gave beauty buffs some serious #hairinspo. Not surprisingly, searches for the term "rainbow hair" grew by 148%. Head over to now to read the rest of the beauty trends report, and to see even more of the most popular hair searches!
