The former Hannah Montana star debuted her first album in 2007 and has since released five number-one albums on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and won MTV's Artist of the Year in 2013. After the release of Bangerz, Forbes listed the edgy performer as the 17th most powerful celebrity on its Celebrity 100 List of 2014.

Her second single off the album, "Wrecking Ball," won Video of the Year at MTV's Video Music Awards, which was unsurprising since it held the Vevo record for the most views in the first 24 hours after its release (Nicki Minaj broke it with "Anaconda"). Between twerking and switching up her hairstyle, Cyrus has also made a name for herself in the fashion world; Marc Jacobs featured her in his Spring/Summer 2014 campaign.
