Gwen Stefani Demonstrates the Cool New Way to Wear Overalls
We haven't exactly been shy about our predilection toward overalls, but in our defense, neither has Hollywood. Ever since the childhood staple got a high-fashion makeover on the spring 2014 runways (see: Rag & Bone, Alexander Wang, et al), young and old stars alike have been spotted parading around town in the two-strap classic, zhoosh-ing up the tried-and-true style in fun and sometimes unexpected ways. The latest celeb to display her cool girl take on the trend is none other than Gwen Stefani.
The singer-songwriter and doting mom to Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo stepped out in L.A. rocking Paige Denim’s Sierra style (the same pair favored by street style star Olivia Palermo). And as if teaming her cotton onesie with an assortment of eye-popping accessories wasn't enough, she also took the liberty of showing off her awesome logo sweatshirt ($295; A.L.C.) by daringly leaving the front bib unbuttoned and flipped downward like a real-life lumberjack. "The idea behind the Sierra was to create an overall that had a more feminine fit and could also be worn in an edgy way," designer Paige Adams-Geller told InStyle.com of Stefani's styling effort. "Gwen wears them exactly how I envisioned them—and with the perfect bag and strappy heels."
