Gucci's Upcoming Makeup Line Is Literally Fit for Royalty
As if the news that Gucci is expanding into makeup isn't exciting enough, the luxury brand is celebrating their foray into color cosmetics in a very regal way: Charlotte Casiraghi, Grace Kelly's granddaughter and fifth in line to the throne of Monaco, is the face of the collection. Finally, our dreams of matching our manis to the label's stunning handbags can come to life, and Casiraghi is a perfect fit for the range.
"Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman," the brand's creative director Frida Giannini says in a release. "Aside from her striking beauty, she is sophisticated, successful, and iconic." The Gucci Cosmetics line is set to launch in September, and will include eye makeup, nail polish, lip products, foundations, and much more. We're already fans of the label's gorgeous pieces, so it's safe to assume that the products will follow suit with the sleek, classic aesthetic.
Casiraghi has already appeared in Gucci's "Forever Now" campaign; for her new role, she's in good company: Blake Lively is the face of Gucci's Premiere fragrance and James Franco fronts the men's scents Gucci by Gucci and Made to Measure. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks at the collection as the launch date approaches!
