News Awards & Events Red Carpet Gorgeous! All the Details of Amy Adams' Modern Grecian Up-Do By Selene Milano Published on January 12, 2014 @ 09:30PM Pin Share Tweet Email Photo: REUTERS/Mario Anzuoni Amy Adams is having quite a hair moment! Her hair in American Hustle had every body craving some 70s strands and her look tonight on the red carpet is sure to spark a thousand braided updos. Stylist Laini Reeves gave Adams what she called "a modern Grecian up-do." "I wanted to give her hair a more textured look to compliment the simple, clean lines of Amy's gorgeous Valentino dress," Reeves tells InStyle.com. She first applied Charles Worthington Salon At-Home Volume & Bounce Body Booster Mousse ($9.99 at target.com) on damp hair and blow dried with a medium round brush to create volume with a smooth finish. Next, she sectioned off the hair from each ear to create four tight braids starting at the hairline. The remaining hair was pulled into a tight ponytail at the crown and sprayed with max hold hairspray to smooth ends and catch fly-aways. She then sprayed the ponytail again to create a messy braid, secured around the base of the ponytail for a textured bun. The front braids at the ear are then wrapped around the top of the bun, with the two center braids pulled down and around the under side for a lifted effect. Reeves finished off by "lightly distorting the bun to soften the look around Amy's bun." See what everyone wore to the 2014 Golden Globes!
