The Good Wife Work Outfit Inspo of the Week: Let the (Faux) Fur Fly!
This season, The Good Wife’s costume designer Dan Lawson is exclusively giving InStyle tips for what to wear to work, inspired by the characters’ ensembles on the show.
On this week's episode of The Good Wife, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) return to the offices of Lockhart and Gardner to take over the firm, and for that, they needed especially head-turning looks. Cue Dan Lawson, the show's award-winning costume designer, to curate a look that makes a statement, like Lockhart's. She wore a blue wool zip-front suit with black sheep fur trim at the hem and cuff, a design tailored by Lawson himself for his line, 35•DL (available on 35dl.net). "I wanted the women to look successful, triumphant, striking and feminine in this scene," says Lawson.
Your tip: While he used a piece that had real fur, you can use faux fur to spice up a look. "Just a little can make an outfit seem especially strong," says Lawson. "You'll stand out in the office and in a crowd of commuters!"
