While the retro finger wave will forever be a classic awards show look, we love seeing a little variety on the red carpet, which is why Hayden Panettiere, Reese Witherspoon, Allison Williams, and Kelly Osbourne were winners in the style department for their bone-straight hair choices. We love how each star brought a little runway inspiration to the red carpet, and thanks to the super-shiny finish, these sleek looks definitely didn't fall flat.

While Panettiere and Osbourne's looks are better left for major events, Witherspoon and Williams offered up more low-key versions that you can pull off in the real world. "Allison's stunning Alexander McQueen dress shaped the inspiration to keep her hair look elegant, simple, and clean," said her hairstylist Anthony Campbell, who used a cocktail of Wella Professionals Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner ($13 each; wella.com for locations) to prep the star's strands. Campbell then worked Wella's Velvet Amplifier ($16; wella.com for locations) all over before using a flat brush to blow out Williams' hair. "Make sure the hair dryer isn't too hot," he added. "It can cause your hair to dry out and break, giving you frizz." Once he formed a deep side part, Campbell touched up individual sections with a flat iron, misted on a veil of hairspray, then used a few drops of Wella Oil Reflections ($40; wella.com for locations) for added shine.
