The cocktail ring dates back to the Prohibition era, when women used their drinks as a way to flaunt the statement-making accessory. It experienced a resurgence, however, in the boozy 1950s—so who better to exhibit its attention-grabbing ability in 2014 than Mad Men star Christina Hendricks? The redheaded siren recently struck a pose at an event in West Hollywood wearing a black onyx cocktail ring by Tacori, which she smartly paired with a matching set of double-drop earrings to amp up her look (pictured, above). The dazzling pieces are from the Cali brand's City Lights, After Dark collection, which includes rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets in gorgeous jewel-tone hues.

"The bold black gems were designed to make a strong statement," says Tacori fashion director Michelle Chila. "Mix shapes—but stay in the same color palette—to add sophistication and interest to your look," the way Hendricks does, matching the trim of her Moschino Cheap and Chic jacket.
