These Recipes Help Gisele Bündchen Maintain Her Figure—and Keep Her Kids Happy
Gisele Bündchen has a few top secret weapons that she uses in her kitchen and they all start with grub from her garden.
"We use the food from our garden daily," the mom of three told People. "Winter in New England is very cold, so we can't grow the same amount of food year around. During the growing season, we love our salads made from the spinach, kale, arugula, tomatoes cucumbers, zucchinis, squash and the other delicious things from our garden."
"In our house, we also eat a lot of snacks," the supermodel continued. "One of our favorite recipes is almonds with herbs. You take raw almonds and soak them overnight and then in the morning the skin is soft and easy to peel. We then get the rosemary and the garlic from the garden and cut it into small pieces mix with the almonds. Then we add some sea salt and olive oil and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes. Everybody loves it."
To keep her body in tip top shape, Bündchen also starts each day with lukewarm water and lemon, which she follows with a homemade green juice she whips up with "whatever I have in the fridge," including spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, ginger and turmeric. She also throws in an apple "to make it sweeter."
In addition to her green juice, Bündchen treats her kids to healthy breakfasts and serves up everything from scrambled eggs and gluten-free toast with avocado to coconut yogurt and gluten-free pancakes. They also love when she gives them bowls of açaí with berries and banana, and she has fun trying to convince them that they're eating ice cream.
We wouldn't be too surprised if they believed it, considering the kids let their mom give their Halloween candy away. "We don't really have that kind of sugar in our house," she told People. "I let them try one [piece], but they really only had one bite and then they didn't want it anymore."
Bündchen told her children she was going to give their candy to other kids and they were fine with it. It looks like her yummy health regimen for her family is working!
