Does this apple mean what we think it means? It's very possible that a Gilmore pregnancy could be on the horizon.

A very telling photo was posted on the official Instagram page for the upcoming Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life series yesterday, and it has fans wondering if Rory (Alexis Bledel) or even Lorelai (Lauren Graham) might have a bun in the oven. "Pop-Tart appetizers to hold us over 'till the pizza comes. And one apple," the caption of a photo that featured a plate of Pop-Tarts and a shiny red apple said.

You might be wondering what's so significant about an apple, but diehard devotees of the show certainly know. In the episode titled "Blame Booze and Melville" from the fifth season, Lorelai suspects she might be pregnant when she eats an apple and actually enjoys it. She tells Rory that she's only enjoyed an apple once before—the first time she was pregnant. In the end Lorelai confirms that she isn't pregnant, but the apple has gone down in Gilmore Girls history. However, this could all just be wild speculation—other fans have pointed out that Lorelai prepared an almost identical plate of snacks for Rory to eat during an episode in the first season.

We'll have to wait until Nov. 25 when Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Netflix to find out.
