We, the people, have an official Gilmore Girls ice cream flavor, and the name is just as clever as you’d expect. “They Scoop Gilmores, Don’t They?” combines coffee (duh), chocolate pudding ice cream (a reference to Emily Gilmore’s attempt to make Friday night dinners fun), snickerdoodle cookies (as in, “Oy with the snickerdoodles already!”), topped with an ode to the Gilmore gals’ favorite breakfast treat—pink Pop-Tart sprinkles. The brilliant flavor name is a play on season three’s iconic dance marathon episode, “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?” which is, of course, a reference to Sydney Pollack 1969 film, They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? A pop culture reference within a pop culture reference? This is basically Inception: Gilmore-style—and we love it. Starting this week, the new flavor is available at all N.Y.C. Ample Hills Creamery locations. The TV-inspired treat is also available to ship nationwide—everyone has the opportunity to experience the wonder of a GG-flavored dessert. 11 of the Best Beauty Lessons 'Gilmore Girls' Taught Us VIDEO: Gilmore Girls Star Yanic Truesdale on Reprising His Role as Michel Gerard The new flavor will be the perfect companion for your upcoming Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life binge (out Nov. 25), no?
