As if we weren’t already on the edge of our seats in anticipation of New York Fashion Week’s September kickoff, some recent news regarding Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger’s upcoming collaboration has us extra excited.
For their fall fashion presentation, Hadid and Hilfiger have planned an extravagant fashion experience (rather than a mere runway show) for those who attend. And by experience, we’re talking a full-fledged pop-up carnival as the venue for debuting their capsule collection.
The fair, which will span the entirety of Pier 16 in South Street Seaport on Friday, Sept. 9, will feature a 40-foot Ferris wheel, as well as other carnival rides, food stands, a record store, temporary tattoo and nail salons, and oodles of snap-worthy fashion moments.
Hadid, who stepped in alongside Hilfiger as brand ambassador, is the perfect choice to represent the youthful collection, which features footwear, accessories, and fragrance, as well as, Hadid’s go-to clothing of choice: athleisure wear.
Those looking to shop Hilfiger's designs on the spot will be able to buy directly following the show from pop-up shops located on the pier (or from online if tuning in remotely).
