How is Katy Perry preparing for this weekend’s Super Bowl? With a football-inspired pedicure, of course! The singer, who will hit the stage as this year’s halftime performer, shared how she got her “tippy toes” into the spirit on Instagram:

If you still don’t know if you’ll be rooting for the Seattle Seahawks or New England Patriots come Sunday, take a cue from Perry and sport this neutral football pattern on either your hands or feet. It’s a fun and creative way to get your nails in on the action, but it’s also basic enough for any beginner to achieve. You can even wear it as a statement nail if you prefer a more subtle approach.

To recreate the look, start by applying two coats of a similar toffee shade (try Revlon’s Nail Enamel in Totally Toffee, $4; drugstore.com). Next, grab a nail art pen (we recommend Sally Hansen’s I Heart Nail Art Pen in White, $6; target.com) and draw a line down the center of the nail, leaving a small space between the top and bottom. Then, add the short side of the laces using the same technique. Seal your digits with a clear topcoat to complete.
