No awkward growing-out phase here! Anne Hathaway’s now-iconic pixie has officially entered bob territory—and while we’ll always love her cropped cut, her newfound length is already proving to be just as chic on the red carpet. In fact, this past weekend at the premiere of Interstellar, she sported one of our favorite throwback hairstyles: sexy bed head.

To accompany the star’s '90s-inspired slip dress, hairstylist Adir Abergel continued the retro theme with the help of a few Leonor Greyl products. “I started by applying Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice ($46; nordstrom.com) from the roots to midshaft to create volume and memory to the style,” he tells InStyle. “I didn’t apply any mousse to the ends of her hair to keep the weight around the structure of the head, right around the roots.” After creating a deep side part, he applied Éclat Naturel ($46; nordstrom.com) on the ends and scrunched her hair completely dry under a diffuser to enhance her natural texture. He then grabbed a 3/4-inch curling iron to achieve the star’s soft, defined waves. “The secret to this kind of look is to curl from the roots to the midshaft, leaving the ends out,” he explains. “It’s really about just creating movement and a very loose wave, rather than a curl." He then brushed down her part to cover half of one eye brow to give it that ultimate '90s edge. Lastly, he spritzed some Laque Souple ($36; leonorgreyl-usa.com) to lock the style in place.

Also inspired by Hathaway’s vintage getup was makeup artist Kate Lee. She went with an elongated smoky eye and a classic nude lip to balance the look. Once curling her lashes, she used Chanel’s Intense Eye Pencil in Marine ($29; nordstrom.com) to draw a line outward from the star's lash line. “I followed this by blending the line upwards into a soft round shape in the outer corner of the eye,” Lee says. “This makes a great base before the powder shadow and helps to build intensity.” For her next step, she used the dark gunmetal shade from the brand’s Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Gabrielle ($61; nordstrom.com). “I worked over the liner and blended the shadow out until I had a horizontal soft oval shape that stopped right at the eye socket,” she adds. After adding extra drama with false lashes and a few coats of mascara, Chanel’s Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Sentiment ($35; nordstrom.com) provided a final touch.
