Game of Thrones Season 7 Will Move Faster Than Ever
It seems like we’ve been waiting for Game of Thrones Season 7 for so long, that we’d be ready for anything HBO throws our way, but apparently fans are NOT prepared for how quickly this season will move. According to Jaime Lannister and Jon Snow (aka Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kit Harington), even the cast members were stunned by the quick pace of this upcoming season.
“I feel like I’d been lulled into a different pace,” Coster-Waldau told Entertainment Weekly. “Everything happened quicker than I’m used to … a lot of things that normally take a season now take one episode.”

“I’m like, ‘Already? Now?! What?!” he said of reading the scripts. And Harington agrees. “This season is really different than any other season because it’s accelerating toward the end, a lot of stuff collides and happens much, much quicker than you’re used to seeing on Thrones … It’s so different than what everybody is used to. It’s quite exciting.”
I guess when a show uses the tagline “Winter is coming” for six long seasons, it can come as a shock when, you know, winter actually arrives. “Things are moving faster because in the world of these characters, the war that they’ve been waiting for is upon them,” showrunner Dan Weiss told EW. “The conflicts that have been building the past six years are upon them and those facts give them a sense of urgency that makes [the characters] move faster.”
“There are White Walkers and dragons and once they start to come together, the story has to go where it goes,” co-executive producer Bryan Cogman added.
Buckle your seatbelts, because it sounds like Season 7 is coming at us full force.
