Joining the ranks of Beyoncé, Lauren Conrad, and Halle Berry, Freida Pinto has jumped on the lob bandwagon! While we've only ever seen Pinto with her gorgeous trademark layers, the star took us by surprise last night when she debuted a collarbone-skimming crop, which had the perfect amount of tousle and texture. "Freida just got a new haircut, which kind of lends itself to a light, airy style," says hairstylist Johnny Lavoy, who formed her lived-in beachy wave. "I wanted to create a look that accentuates her new style, and shows off her gorgeous orange beaded gown. It's structured, but not too structured."
Lavoy started with wet hair, misting on L'Oreal’s Txt It Tousle Waves Spray ($5; ulta.com), which brought out Pinto's natural curl, and the Boost It Blow Out Heat Spray ($5; ulta.com) as a shield from the heat styling tools. He then rough-dried her hair with his hands, using scrunching motions throughout to form the wave. Once her hair had completely dried, Lavoy gave the texture extra movement, alternating between a curling iron to form spiral curls, and a flat iron to create flat waves. A final veil of the L'Oreal Lock It Weather Control Hairspray ($5; ulta.com) kept the style in place all night.
