Freida Pinto turns 32 today! The Indian actress became an overnight sensation in 2008 when she starred in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, which she then followed up with roles in blockbuster films like Rise of the Planets of the Apes and a number of indie flicks.
The L'Oréal spokesmodel recently signed on to star in Warner Brother's live-action version of The Jungle Book: Origins, directed by Andy Serkis and slated for a 2018 release. When Pinto isn't owning the big screen, she's slaying it on the red carpet, making several best-dressed lists over the years.
"Fashion and costuming play such an important part in helping the actor feel like they are no longer who they were when they woke up in the morning," Pinto told InStyle regarding her affinity to fashion. "So in that sense, I feel I really have to give it up to designers who've really revolutionized fabric."
Currently, Pinto is working hard as an ambassador for the girls' education campaign Girl Rising, and recently spoke with Michelle Obama to discuss her own campaign, Let Girls Learn. Together, Obama and Pinto, along with legendary actress Meryl Streep, made a CNN film titled, We Will Rise: Michelle Obama's Mission to Educate Girls Around the World, to shed a light on the 62 million girls all over the world who don't have the access they should to a proper education.
