This morning, Josh Duhamel called. (It's not often we say that!) But he rang to chat about his latest partnership with Valspar Hearts and Hands for Habitat, which auctions off colorful handprints signed by celebrities including Duhamel himself, Lea Michele and Kate Bosworth to raise money for Habitat for Humanity programs that rebuild homes affected by natural disasters, like Hurricane Sandy and the recent tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma. The actor signed on board because the program is near and dear to his heart, as his loved ones were affected by disastrous flooding in his hometown of Minot, North Dakota in 2011. "The work that they do is unbelievable," he said of the program. "After seeing what my family went through, this initiative is really what America is all about. We're so good at getting together and helping out. I'm just glad to be a part of it." A lot can be learned within 10 chatty minutes. Scroll down to see what Duhamel had to say about his favorite handprint for the cause, his future child and his new movie, Scenic Route (out August 23; watch the trailer here). To place your bid on any Valspar Hearts and Hands for Habitat handprint, visit the Valspar Facebook page or charitybuzz.com today through August 30th.

1. IF YOU COULD BID ON ANY CELEBRITY HANDPRINT, WHICH WOULD IT BE?"I’m going to bid and Bette Midler, she’s my favorite one up there."

2. DOES FERGIE SING TO HER BABY BUMP?"Yes we both have! This baby is either going to be a great singer or a really bad one."

3. HOW WILL BEING A FATHER AFFECT YOUR CAREER CHOICES?"I was just reading a script about a serial killer and I just thought about this question. I’ll just explain to him that, 'It is just art son.'"

4. YOU FILMED SCENIC ROUTE IN DEATH VALLEY. WHAT WAS THAT LIKE?"At first, I thought it was going to be dialogue. It's almost like a play at the beginning. After all the rehearsals, I couldn't wait to get on set to do it. And then it became about the elements. Death Valley is really hot during the day and really cold during the night and I’ve never felt so cold to the bone. It was so cold that it took three days to warm up."
