Retro Irregular Choice Shoes Are Paddington's Comfy Alternative to Louboutins
The soaring Christian Louboutin stilettos worn by Nicole Kidman’s evil taxidermist as she attempts to capture the Peruvian Anglophile bear in Paddington may have their own line in the film's credits, but the shoes that have really captured viewers' attention are the funky-but-chic mid-heeled oxfords worn by Sally Hawkins as Paddington's adopted mom, Mrs. Brown.
The shoes are by British line Irregular Choice, which specializes in unique retro-inspired, reasonably priced (at under $135), and remarkably comfortable designs, often adorned with elaborate ribbons, interesting textile patterns, or ornate embellishment. The Mai E Bow, for example, is a lace pump with giant Minnie Mouse bows, while the Hook Line and Sinker model looks like the sort of mid-heeled shoe-boot favored by 18th century French monarch and bling enthusiast Louis XIV-- it features a delicate floral print and huge elaborate ribbon corsage at the front. You could say it's made for modern royalty.
