Shailene Woodley rocks a pixie crop like no other. But the first pictures of her in the new film Snowden show the Insurgent beauty sampling a former favorite look.

The 23-year-old actress, who stars as Lindsay Mills alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the new thriller, showed off a longer hairstyle on Monday when production company released an early look at the film of the pair walking together in Washington, D.C.

While Woodley's last role as the tough Tris from the Divergent series saw her cast off her gorgeous waist-length tresses, Woodley appears to revisit one of her best styles for Snowden. Fans of the YA series will know that when the actress reprised her character in Insurgent—the movie sequel from the book franchise—earlier this year, her signature locks were gone, thus completing the transformation of her fierce persona in the role.

Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone is behind the thriller, which will see Woodley portray Mills, a model who was dating the famous NSA whistle blower Edward Snowden (whom Gordon-Levitt portrays) when he exposed government intelligence information.
