In a situation somewhat similar to Emma Roberts, Orange Is the New Black star Taylor Schilling didn’t decide on her complete Golden Globes ensemble until the very last minute -- and when she just wasn’t feeling her gold Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals, she took action—with paint. “At the very last minute, we spray-painted her shoes silver,” Schilling’s stylist, Penny Lovell, tells InStyle exclusively. “They were originally gold.”

Although Schilling was open to last-minute changes when it came to her accessories, it was a different story when it came to her custom Thakoon dress. “We worked together, actually, over a few weeks which was so exciting,” she tells InStyle. “My only rule was absolutely no [color] orange.” The result was a far cry from the signature orange jailhouse jumpsuit she wears on the show. “We were going for a Veronica Lake at Studio 54 kind of vibe,” Lovell tells us. “We didn't decide on the accessories until right before the red carpet.” Meanwhile, we’re dying to know what other hardware store staples she keeps on hand in case of a wardrobe emergency.Plus, see all the fashion from the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.MORE:• We Played Stylist!
