Though the gown usually determines the direction of the hairstyle for a red carpet event, Jennifer Aniston felt especially inspired by one of the looks she wore at her InStyle cover shoot---namely the tousled look showcased 15 seconds into the star's behind-the-scenes video, and below."You know, she really loved the hair she was wearing with the Altuzarra outfit at her InStyle shoot, so that was kind of our inspiration," her hairstylist Chris McMillan told InStyle exclusively. "The feeling tonight was sexy and glamorous, it's classic Jennifer hair. We did a straight blowout with some texture, and the tough decision of the night was whether to part it to the middle or side." Because tonight's forecast had rain showers in store, McMillan took extra steps to ensure Aniston's blowout wouldn't fall flat, not that he needed to, of course. "Jenn is really good at controlling her hair, so I never worry," he adds. "I put a travel-sized bottle of Living Proof's Flex Hairspray ($14; in the back of her car in case she needs it, but she normally doesn't. She knows what she's doing!"

After lathering up with the No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner ($24 each;, McMillan worked the yet-to-be-released Blowout product through her roots and ends to form a solid foundation, then dried her hair into a straight finish with volume at the crown. He then combined the Satin Hair Serum ($29; with the Instant Texture Mist ($26;, and worked the cocktail through her ends. "She went into makeup, and half an hour later, I brushed it out and applied another layer. After she gets dressed and before she leaves, I'll brush it out again, apply another layer, and finish with a little hairspray to make sure it stays out of her face," says McMillan. Ultimately, the duo decided to part Aniston's hair to the side, just like at her InStyle shoot, and although she had a big night ahead of her, the star kept a very zen-like attitude during the prepping process. "We were almost in a meditative mode---we weren't bouncing off the walls or anything, we were all in a really chill mood," McMillan says. "The process with Jenn is always easy. Her hair right now is really healthy and she has a great haircut, so she's happy with where it is right now."
