The beauty brand has teamed up with Charity: Water, a non-profit organization that provides water to people around the world who cannot easily access a clean source, and Rossum has jumped on board as the spokesperson. Last night at the New York City launch of the Origins SmartyPlants CC Cream ($35; origins.com), the star told us why she's lending a hand. "Origins is a brand I've used and loved for years, and I love that they are involved with this amazing charity," she told InStyle.com. "Eco-charity is also really big in my life, and it's important for me to give back." Rossum, whose do-good attitude is evident through her previous work with the Global Green charity, is urging fans of Origins to make a $30 donation to Charity: Water specific to Ethiopia, after she heard the story of one woman's plight there. For the first 1,000 donors, the beauty brand will match the donation amount. "Charity: Water is an organization I've always admired," she said, adding how she commends Origins for its matching policy. Each individual contribution will provide clean water to a person in Ethiopia, and you can even donate via Twitter -- simply tag @charitywater on Twitter with the #donate and #smartyplants hashtags, and include the amount you'd like to give. Head over to charitywater.org for more information. Plus, see gifts that give back.
