If social media weren't scary enough on its own (the haters! the trolls!), Emma Watson's latest film, The Circle, will surely make you swear off the apps forever.

In the movie, based on Dave Eggers's 2013 novel of the same name, Watson plays recent college graduate, Mae Holland, who nails a very intense interview process and lands a dream job at a tech company called The Circle, founded by "a charming Elon Musk/Mark Zuckerberg/Steve Jobs type named Eamon Bailey (played by the ultimate charismatic actor, Tom Hanks)," according to Entertainment Weekly. The company's proudest tech innovation is a small, round, glass camera that allows users to share their every move with the entire world. It is transparency at its extreme, and although the movie doesn't take place in the present day, The Circle is seemingly set in a not-so-distant future.

"I am a believer in the perfectibility of human beings," says Hanks's character in the trailer, which grows more and more intense is it plays. "Knowing is good. But knowing everything is better."

The Circle, which also stars John Boyega and Karen Gillan, will be released in theaters nationwide, on April 28, 2017.
