Emma Watson is taking on a major new role and, no, it's not for her next film! The British actress and recent college grad, has been appointed as a goodwill ambassador for UN Women. Watson's role will focus on empowering young women worldwide through the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign, which aims to promote gender equality.

"The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly," she says in the statement announcing her role. "Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can’t imagine an opportunity more exciting."

In the midst of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, where she was spotted goofing off with J.Law, Watson took to Twitter and Facebook to share the exciting announcement.

We can't wait to see what she'll accomplish!
