Emma Stone may be as pretty as a princess, but apparently, she would rather play the villain. The star is reportedly in talks with Disney to play Cruella de Vil in a live-action origin story of the character, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the 1961 animated classic, 101 Dalmatians, the fur coat-wearing antagonist is obsessed with capturing the pups.

Kelly Marcel, the screenwriter behind Fifty Shades of Grey, is reportedly writing the new film, which Disney is hoping to shoot later this year. Presumably, this backstory would give us some more insight on how the glamorous heiress became the evil character we know and loathe.

While we await further word on whether Stone will take on the fashionable villain, we’ll be here envisioning her in lavish furs. She already has de Vil’s classic red lip down pat!
