All eyes were on Elizabeth Olsen last night at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square Theater, where FilmDistrict and The Cinema Society co-hosted a screening of Spike Lee’s much-anticipated film Oldboy, a modern-day American remake of the cult classic South Korean thriller. The 24-year-old actress proved that sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley aren’t the only ones with fashion chops in the family, showing off her own style in an Altuzarra white silk dress and shimmering silk jacket woven with metallic thread. “If I went through a security thing, it would go off!” Olsen joked to InStyle.com of the platinum-colored piece. “[Altuzarra] was like, ‘Try and get through the airport in this!’” We'll take all the protection we can get: Oldboy tells the harrowing story of Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin), an advertising executive who is suddenly and inexplicably kidnapped and held for 20 years in solitary confinement with little else than a bed, a TV, and a shower. In the film, Olsen plays Marie, a social worker with a dark past who offers to help Joe after he’s freed from imprisonment, and becomes entangled in his quest to seek revenge on his captor. Catch the film when it opens in theaters on November 27th!
