The Creators of Gossip Girl Are Reviving This Television Classic

Gossip Girl has been gone from our television screens and lives for more than four years now, but we're still pretty obsessed with the show. We've been impatiently awaiting news of a reboot, but luckily for us, the series' creators are giving us a healthy dose of Upper East Side shade and glamour in its place.

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are currently working on reviving small screen classic, Dynasty—the '80s soap opera that literally put the "l" in luxury with loads of drama to boot. The show will make its modern-day return to The CW during the 2017-2018 season with Victorious' Elizabeth Gillies as the famed Fallon Carrington and The Vampire Diaries' Nathalie Kelley as her mother, Crystal Jennings.

And if you've never seen the original, just know that legends Joan Collins and Diahann Carroll were positively iconic in it. Collins actually posts clips from the timeless show on her Instagram all the time. And they're all dripping with perfectly-executed shade.

We're happy to report that Dynasty's original producers are back for the reboot, but we have no idea if Collins and Carroll have signed on. This means no Gossip Girl for now, but we've found Dynasty on Netflix here. So we're fully prepared to start catching up on the drama in time for its return.
