Dyeing Your Armpit Hair Is Now a Thing: Tell Us, Would You Try It?
Yes, you're reading that right---in what may be the weirdest news we've seen this week, tinting the hair on your pits is the latest beauty trend taking social media by storm, and we're not talking about matching it to the hue on your head, either. Neon blue, hot pink, and even lime green are among the rainbow of colors we've spotted under the #dyedpits hashtag, and no surprise here, tinting your hair under there follows the same protocol as giving your strands Crayola-esque highlights. Because armpit hair is dark, you have to bleach out the color before slapping on your Manic Panic dye of choice. "Turns out, pit hair lightens super duper fast," writes Seattle hairstylist Roxie Hunt of Vain Salon, who kick-started the trend with her coworker Rain. "Being so close to the skin, body heat probably helped speed up the process."
Of course, we're on board with going au naturale like our girl Julia Roberts (above), but we have to admit, we were a bit taken aback by the thought of underarms that mirrored the color scheme of Rainbow Brite. Still, it's certainly a trend that can't be ignored, and as the warrior poet Taylor Swift once said, haters gonna hate, hate, hate, but you've just got to shake, shake, shake---or shave, if you'd rather---it off. Now we want to know: Would you try the trend? Vote in our poll below to tell us!
